Downtown Halifax Business Commission (DHBC) is a member-funded organization whose goal is to bring greater vitality to the downtown core of Halifax. It focuses on four areas: advocacy, beautification, marketing and communications, and membership engagement. The strategic direction of the organization is led by a dynamic and forward-thinking board of directors, comprised of members of the downtown business community.
The board is seeking new members to join for a two-year term. Those who work for or operate a business in the downtown district are eligible to join (businesses located in the area from the water-side of Brunswick Street to the Halifax Waterfront and from the Cogswell Interchange to the south end of Barrington, including the port properties).
The board is focused on diversity and balanced membership representation. In its strategic review, there is a preference towards individuals who have skills in the areas of urban planning, architecture, strategic planning, or hotel management.
If you have an interest in serving on the board, please contact Paul MacKinnon, Executive Director of DHBC, firstname.lastname@example.org.
